Descriptive Essay On Hurricane - 1335 Words

I grew up in very remote part of Brooklyn, the part of Brooklyn where there were absence of crime and violence. The dull ambience occupy everyone’s lives. It was that type of atmosphere you would feel in a retirement home. The serenity feels unreal, everyday I anticipated something extreme to happen. I got what I wanted but not in the way I wanted to be. I clearly remember how humid that day was. The mist was so apparent it was blocking the sun. It was a very dark day. The mist droplet eventually evaporated into heat. It was a misty day in december, surprisingly it still hasn’t snowed yet, it was probably due to a recent hurricane. Colossal size trees were everywhere on the ground, the scene looked like it†¦show more content†¦Next we had Jason who was quite frail for his age who was the most modest out of all of us who was in my class. Finally, there was Raymond who was the most mature and was the jokester, he always made your mom jokes. We would always playe d basketball at the local park after school, it was like an everyday ritual. Given the current situation the park was in, we were debating if we should still go because of all the caution tape that was covering the entire park. Moreover, the entire area we lived in were all covered in uprooted trees and fallen tree branches. It was still dangerous to be outside however, given that we were rebels back then we could care less. We were all excited for another day of carefreeness. We assembled after school in the schoolyard, the schoolyard was desolate, it was always filled with parents , children running around and laughter. But, today it was empty and there was a tint of melancholy instilled in the air. It was only the five of us, Lucas broke the silence and suggested ,† I think we should go home, it’s dangerous out here.† I agreed but I replied, â€Å"we been home for an entire week already bro.† Raymond added, â€Å"yeah, let’s do something Iâ€℠¢m mad bored.† My own neighborhood felt so foreign to me, the streets were empty , there were caution tape everywhere.
